Okay so i just finished Allegiant (still crying tbh) and I was wondering what the general consensus is about the conclusion to the series? Do most people genuinely hate it or do they think it's good but extremely devastating and painful? And what do you think about it?

I’m pretty sure the general consensus from what I’ve seen is leaning more towards good but devastating because the entire theme of the series is leaning on selflessness so tris dying was the only ending that made sense in a way. as much as I HATE the fact that she died I don’t really think there could’ve been another way to tie up the series and make it have such an impact. like yes, we wanted tobias and tris to have their happily ever after, but with everything that happened, it couldnt have happened. there was NO WAY tris would’ve actually let caleb go through with going into the lab, she was just too selfless for that. so all in all I personally didn’t like it, but I understand that it had to happen.
